Ovenhouse Lane, Bollington Cross, Macclesfield SK10 5EY
AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AND BUSINESS MEETINGS
Two superior meeting rooms are available upstairs, following extensive refurbishment of the former living quarters on the first floor. The larger of these rooms accommodates up to 20 persons, the smaller up to 12 persons. The rooms are fully carpeted and furnished.
These rooms are ideal for training courses, business meetings, break out rooms from larger groups using the main hall or for small social gatherings. A small kitchenette is also available upstairs for making tea and coffee.
The Centre is used as a venue for a variety of regular activities including Luncheon Club, Bingo, Social Club (all weekly), Flower Club, Civic Society, Horticultural Society (monthly). Renovated meeting/training rooms are available upstairs (see left).
The Centre is available for hire by the local community and businesses for Clubs, Societies, parties, seminars, courses etc. on weekdays, evenings and at weekends. Adjacent to the main hall there is a well equipped catering sized kitchen. The toilets include facilities for disabled persons.
The Hall can be used as an open area or set out with furniture. The meeting rooms are available day and evening. Hire charges are currently (2015) £12.50 per hour for the hall. £6.50 for the meeting rooms. Call 01625-575557 for details and bookings.
Community Luncheon Club is enjoyed every Wednesday. Coffee is served from 10.30 and a two course lunch is served at 12 noon at a cost of £4.50. If you are interested in coming each week please give Pat Haddleton a call (01625-575557) for more information.
A team of volunteers help cook the meals and serve up. Why not become a volunteer yourself for this very worthwhile club; you don’t have to be a gourmet cook and we work in teams of two. Just give Pat a call if you would like to become a volunteer.
The Community Centre is located at the end of Ovenhouse Lane in Bollington Cross. The main hall, kitchen, toilets and heating have been re-furbished with grants from the NHS, WREN, Cheshire East Council and generous contributions from the local community. Following the interior refurbishment, work was completed on securing the weather envelope of the building with renewal of the flat roof areas, replacement of windows, gutters, barge boards and soffits etc. This work also received grants from WREN, Cheshire East Council and Bollington Town Council.
The Management Committee is keen to encourage more Community activities at the Centre and would welcome enquiries from those interested in setting up clubs, leisure activities, regular social gatherings or courses. (eg. whist, bridge, dominoes, handicrafts, etc).
The Knit & Natter group! has been set-up for those who enjoy knitting or would like to learn how to knit or crochet, or just come for a chatter!
