Notes for Frederick RICHARDSON

Revd Frederick Richardson buried 1,550 people during his time (nearly 40 years) as vicar, the last funeral he performed being the day before he himself died. He was buried next to the path from the church to the vicarage, but was in fact the last vicar to live in the old vicarage. Less than a year after his death, the vicarage had been demolished and the vicarage grounds consecrated for burials, the first burial being just the other side of the wall from the Richardson grave. I understand that Revd. Richardson’s father-in-law is buried next to William Shakespeare at Stratford-upon-Avon. [130]
