Since Michaelmas 2009 what was three Anglican congregations have been merged into one, based at the Parish Church of St Oswald (below). The Vicar is the Revd. Nancy Goodrich (since August 2021).<\/p>\n

The Revd Nancy Goodrich is the Vicar of the Parish of Bollington (since 08\/2021). We very much welcome the Revd Nancy and her family to St Oswald’s and pray that she will have a fulfilling ministry here with us.<\/p>\n

The history of the Anglican Church in Bollington is covered in the book by the Revd. R Norton Betts, Bollington Through the Centuries<\/em><\/a>, available from the \u00a0Discovery\u00a0Centre<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>.<\/p>\n

A modern history of St Oswald\u2019s Church, St Oswald\u2019s Church, Bollington \u2013 the First 100 Years<\/em><\/a>, has been written by Chris Ward and is available from the church and the \u00a0Discovery\u00a0Centre<\/a>\u00a0<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Please note<\/strong> – there is no graveyard at St Oswald’s. The Anglican graveyard remains at the now disused St John’s church<\/a> in Church Street<\/a>, where there is also a Columbarium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bollington Parish Archives<\/strong> – https:\/\/www.bollingtonparisharchives.co.uk\/<\/a> is the new home of the historical records of the Church of England Parish of Bollington and the Bollington Online War Memorial.<\/p>\n

Family historians may be interested to note that it provides a free search facility of the burial registers and memorial inscriptions for St John\u2019s churchyard and columbarium, correct up to 2020. It is also possible to search earlier volumes of baptism and marriage registers for St John\u2019s and St Oswald\u2019s churches, including baptisms at the former C of E chapel at Kerridge.<\/p>\n

The Online War Memorial includes details of casualties from the Bollington area in both world wars, as well as brief histories of most of the local men who served in WW1.<\/p>\n

The site also includes a personal selection of hymns complete with soundtracks so that you can sing-along. There are some old favourites as well as others you have almost certainly never come across before. I suspect some are not even in the Cyber Hymnal!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This delightful church is located in the centre of Pott Shrigley<\/a>, and has 13th century origins. Many Bollington families worship here and many more are buried in the churchyard.<\/p>\n
