Children (4):
Notes for Edward SIGLEY Edward SIGLEY had a complex family! He had two relationships. His first was a marriage to Emma GASKELL. She had four children and died in 1886. Edward then lived - unmarried - with Alice GASKELL, sister to the late Emma, and she had a further four children. Because Alice was unmarried her children were all surnamed GASKELL. Edward and Alice finally married in 1913. There is probably a good reason for the delayed marriage to Alice - it was, until 1907, illegal to marry the sister of a deceased wife, but no restriction on co-habitation and procreation.
