Schools

Once someone decided to build a mill in Bollington there was a need for stone with which to construct it, so quarries were opened up. Mills and quarries needed labour so incoming workers needed homes. And workers’ children needed schools of course!

Here we look at the history of schools in Bollington:

Lowther Street;

St John’s;

Water Street Secondary;

St Gregory’s;

Big Sunday School;

Methodist Sunday School.
