Bollington Town councillor and mayor. Macclesfield Borough councillor from 1977, first borough mayor from Bollington 1985/86.

Lived his last days in Shrigley Court, Church Street, Bollington.

The picture was taken the last time I saw George, only a few months before his death, at the Bollington Transport Extravaganza on 9 September 2007.
