Notes for George ADSHEAD Built Adshead′s Barn farm at the top of what is now Lord Street (see web page, Happy Valley: Adshead Court, history ).
Local historian Bridget Franklin has found George ADSHEAD′s Probate record dated 1664. Local historian Jane Laughton suspected he was also at the Waulkmill (at the far end of Ingersley Vale) given the contents of his inventory. Bridget has now confirmed from birth registers that in 1638 at the birth of his son Reginald, he was living at Waulkmill, as stated in the birth registration. By the time of his Will he was talking of land etc in Bollington at the north end of Kerridge suggesting he may have moved to the Adshead Farm location after Waulkmill.
