Notes for Percival 'Percy' THOMPSON In WWI served in 596th Motor Transport Company Army Service Corps
M2/131605. Enlisted 13 October 1915 at Manchester, served in Mesopotamia,
where he contracted enteric fever and was invalided to Culballa War
Hospital in Bombay, India, on 4 August 1916. He died there on 2 September
1916 aged 28 and is named on the Kirkee Memorial, near Poona, India, and
on both the old and new memorials in Bollington, and at St Oswald's. He
has a separate memorial in St Oswald's church. [73]
